Two students were recognized at the April School Board Meeting - Jacob Kurian and Karen Rangel.
Jacob is an excellent student who teachers can rely on to add depth to classroom discussion. He has a desire to strengthen and enrich his learning by seeking new challenges and welcoming different viewpoints. Jacob is a dedicated and motivated learner who seeks out information and assistance when needed. These skills are also found in the variety of sports Jacob participates in. In Winfield, Jacob has participated in both Soccer and Track. Outside of school, Jacob is an accomplished gymnast.
Whether in the classroom or out, Jacob is a leader. He is well respected by his peers and is looked to in classrooms as well as the playing field for direction and support. Jacob is a kind and caring young man who is HUNGRY for knowlege; he has an insatiable APPETITE for learning.
Congratulations Jacob, your leadership, dedication, and intellectual curiosity make you a student to recognize today and years to come.
Karen represents Winfield Middle School well. As an 8th grader, Karen is dedicated to preparing herself for High School and beyond. She is committed to her school work and to the teams she plays on. Karen is a motivator. She rallies her teammates and classmates. This young lady understands the concept of teamwork. As an accomplished student and athlete, Karen works to ensure all are included and working together towards a goal. She is also the player that can be counted on to make a three point basket with only seconds left in a game, moving the team to overtime.
When looking toward the future, it is apparent that Karen can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. As Karen leaves Winfield Middle School, our hope is that she continues on a path towards excellence. Keeping her sights set on a future of continued academic and athletic excellence. Staff members expect great things from Karen!
Congratulations Karen on all of your accomplishments and best of luck in your future adventures.
