February Student Recognition

Two students were recognized at the February School Board Meeting - Alexandra Brouwer and Corey Scudder.

Mrs. Kersten shared her thoughts about Alex.
Alex is a very special student. No matter what is going on in Alex's life, she walks into class each day with a smile on her face. Many times, she is carrying the latest picture of her beautiful niece. Alex's work ethic is commendable. She puts her best effort into everything she does. Most students get their work in on time, but Alex goes one step beyond and often times, has her work done a few days early. One of the most admirable things about Alex is how much she cares for her classmates. She is always happy to help out, if anyone one needs it. So, congratulations Alex! This is an honor you truly deserve.
Congratulations to Alexandra Brouwer on being someone who has made a difference in the lives of others in Winfield School District 34!

Ms. Demos shared her thoughts about Corey.
Corey has shown many qualities that are exceptional for an 8th grader. His determination to improve his academic skills has led him to being on the honor roll for second quarter. He demonstrates leadership ability while working with classmates both during class and during advisory. He truly cares about others’ feelings and can empathize with them.

Mr. Tyle shared his thoughts about Corey, as well.
In addition to continually improving academically over the last 2 ½ years, Corey has been an invaluable help in the lab. Over this time period he has consistently worked in the lab during his advisory period. He knows what is required and is able to lead others in tasks to complete. Over summer vacation he came in weekly to help maintain the facility and we greatly appreciate the effort he has shown for us.
Congratulations to Corey Scudder on being someone who has made a difference in the lives of others in Winfield School District 34!
