October Student Recognition

Two students were recognized at the October School Board Meeting - Natalie Thompson and Nick Karales

Mrs. Hennessy refers to Natalie as a quiet leader. She is sensitive to the needs of others and looks for ways to make sure those around her find happiness in their day. Natalie approaches tasks as opportunities to expand her own horizons and goes above expectations to do a job well done.

Natalie has adjusted very well to the Middle School routine, according to Mrs. Kahlfeldt.  She is prepared and on time to class.  She shares great insight in class discussions and often tends to go the "extra mile" when it comes to her school work.  She is eager to learn and puts forth much effort to learn as much as she can about the topics we are learning about.

Congratulations to Natalie Thompson on being someone who has made a difference in the lives of others in Winfield School District 34!

Nick Karales has made quite an impression on the staff in the short time he has been at Winfield Central School! This fall, he joined the soccer team and Coach Memler stated that Nick worked hard to improve his soccer skills. In fact, he was one of the players who made the most improvement throughout the season!

Mrs. Kahfeldt feels that Nick has been a great addition to our Winfield community.  He "jumped" right into the 8th grade Spanish curriculum with both feet!!  He had never taken Spanish before this year (just French) and worked very hard to catch up on what he missed in 6th and 7th grade more than could have been expected!  Nick is also very kind, polite and respectful to the adults around him, as well as his peers.

Congratulations to Nick Karales on being someone who has made a difference in the lives of others in Winfield School District 34!
