Superintendent Message

Thank you for welcoming me to Winfield School District as the new Superintendent. Winfield District 34 is known for it’s commitment to student excellence and it is a great privilege for me to join the staff, community, and Board of Education in upholding that tradition. Proudly District 34 is one of the 2008 recipients of the Illinois State Board of Education’s Academic Excellence Awards, which recognizes schools with sustained very high academic performance over at least three years. Congratulations to all of our students and staff for their accomplishments.

Winfield is located in west central DuPage County, which is approximately 28 miles west of downtown Chicago. District 34 is comprised of two schools within 1.5 square miles. Winfield Primary School serves students in Prekindergarten through second grade and is located on the corner of Beecher and Winfield Road. Winfield Central School, which is located on the corner of Beecher and Park Street, serves students in grades three through eight.

The Board of Education’s dedication to promoting quality education is evident throughout the district. Small class sizes provide staff with opportunities to attend to students’ individual needs. Research-based best practices and ongoing data analysis illustrate the educational practices used to promote student success. In collaboration with the focus on academics children’s social emotional development and becoming good citizens is also a vital part of our curriculum. Our staff’s dedication to life-long learning is evident with approximately fifty percent having their Masters Degree and many others who are currently working toward that goal.

We hope that our website provides you with important information about our district and community. Please feel free to contact us for additional information if you have questions or comments through the Winfield Staff Directory or Community Feedback links. If you would like a response please be sure to include your name and a method of contact.
