Mrs. Nelson
7th and 8th Grade Earth History
The 7th and 8th graders have been investigating rocks from two different Grand Canyon sites. Following careful observations and testing, they were able to identify the samples as sandstone, limestone and shale. The next step was to correlate the two rock columns and see how the sites relate to each other, even though they are 32 miles apart. Ask your favorite 7th or 8th grader to tell you what it means when acid is dropped onto a rock sample and it fizzes!
Welcome to Middle School Science!
Hello! My name is Cori Nelson. I'm excited to be starting a new year in middle school science.
We have spent some time going over classroom procedures and expectations as well as lab safety rules. This class is a hands-on laboratory class, but working in the lab is a privilege. All students must return the Student Safety Contract which can be found here.
