An Interview with Mrs. Macmillan by Leah Moffatt

Q: When did you start teaching?

A: In 1999, so this is my 19th class.

Q: What inspired you to start teaching?

A: I think it’s fun being with kids and it is also exciting to plan new lessons. I figured out I liked being around kids when I did babysitting.

Q: What is your favorite subject to teach?

A: Well, I would have to say math. Which is weird, because as a kid I did not like it that much.

Q: What is your favorite subject to learn?

A: Anything that has to do with literacy. I love to read, I love to write...

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: As an adult, I would say The Help, as a kid I would have to say Number the Stars.

Q: Tell me about your family.

A: I am married, I have been for almost three years, my daughter is twenty six. My husband has two grandchildren, and two grown daughters.

Q: Do you have any pets?

A: Not anymore. We lost our dog last fall. We had to put her to sleep.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: Mrs. Sasveld and I have the same favorite movie. From 1977, Saturday Night Fever.

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: My husband and I go to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach, those are our two favorite places.

Q: What is your favorite color?

    A: Pink.

Random Thoughts with Mary Jo Turek

The bell rang. We all packed up our things and went to our advisory teacher. I started my homework. 7(M x 9) Hmmmm. What can that mean? As my brain finally thought of the answer, I finished all my homework. Time to color up the back board. Hmmmm. What to do, What to do... What about a quote? Wait! I got it! I started writing it down. Hahahaha. It is so funny. “The inner mechanisms of my mind are an enigma…” By Patrick Star. I made a face and looked at the quote. Ledalledalledalleee…  “The inner mechanisms of my mind are an enigma… By Patrick Star. Ha! That’s funny.” Said Mr. Liesering with a smile on his face.
