Mrs. Gavin (Second Grade)
ABOUT ME…
I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at a number of schools in the Chicago and Atlanta areas and am thrilled to have landed at Winfield Primary School in 2nd grade! I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University. I am currently taking college courses toward earning an ESL endorsement. I found my calling in teaching and feel it is a privilege to be able to spend my days with children helping to guide their learning and discoveries!
I live right here in Winfield with my husband Dan, and two children, Nathan (19) and Elise (17). Nathan is a sophomore at Iowa State University and Elise is a high school senior pondering what college is a good fit for her next year. Our 6 year old rescue dog Millie is also an important part of our family! We enjoy taking camping trips locally with friends and also to venture farther in the summers on family vacations to national parks for hiking and sightseeing. In my spare time I like to relax with family and friends, watch my kids’ sporting events and concerts, exercise, read, and be outside as much as possible!
